La lecture di Philippe Prost “Heritage, memory and climate. From place de la Concorde (Paris) to JOP2030 (Fort des Têtes, Briançon)” esplora la relazione che si instaura tra progetto, tempo, memoria e climate change. A partire da edifici e siti storici densi di significato, Prost ricerca una nuova destinazione che non intende intaccare l’identità e il valore di patrimonio del luogo.

In una fusione tra memoria e creazione, l’architettura di Prost è in grado di integrare passato, presente e futuro, modellandosi sul contesto e dimostrando come la preservazione del patrimonio sia un approccio perseguibile anche attraverso il ricorso alla modernità.

Philippe Prost’s lecture “Heritage, memory and climate. From place de la Concorde (Paris) to JOP2030 (Fort des Têtes, Briançon)” explores the relationship between project, time, memory and climate change. Taking as his starting point historic buildings and sites steeped in meaning, Prost seeks a new purpose for them that does not undermine the place’s identity or heritage value.
Particular attention is thus paid to environmental sensitivity, in an act of continuous understanding and adaptation to the transformations of the landscape. The ecological challenge is addressed through an in-depth study of materials and innovative construction
techniques, which demonstrate the existence of a synergy between engineering and architecture that is constantly focused on reuse and resource efficiency.
In a fusion of memory and creation, Prost’s architecture is able to integrate past, present and future, adapting to its context and demonstrating how heritage preservation is an approach that can also be pursued through the use of modernity.
