Le citt\u00e0 europee nel prossimo futuro dovranno accogliere nuova vegetazione per mitigare il cambiamento climatico e rispondere a un sempre pi\u00f9 diffuso desiderio di natura. Quale sar\u00e0 l\u2019impatto spaziale delle masse arboree nei centri urbani? Sar\u00e0 sostenibile dal punto di vista formale, ambientale, sociale ed economico?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
La ricerca \u201cThe Right Tree in the Right Town\u201d condotta da Luciana Macaluso (Coordinatrice Nazionale) e Daniela Buonanno nell\u2019ambito di un progetto PRIN 2022 indaga gli effetti e le prospettive della forestazione urbana nelle citt\u00e0 dell\u2019Italia meridionale a partire da aree specifiche prese a pretesto per ragionare su tematiche che riguardano l\u2019intero Paese. Il titolo della ricerca reinterpreta la locuzione, in italiano, presente nel Piano di forestazione urbana del PNRR \u201cL\u2019albero giusto al posto giusto\u201d che indica la corretta collocazione degli alberi in base alle specie, al clima, al terreno, rispetto alle loro caratteristiche agronomiche e botaniche. Sostituendo un \u201cposto\u201d generico con la parola \u201ccitt\u00e0\u201d, si sposta l\u2019attenzione \u2013 diversamente da quanto avvenga nel piano di forestazione del 2021 \u2013 verso le questioni contingenti, architettoniche e qualitative della forestazione urbana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European cities in the near future will have to accommodate new vegetation in order to mitigate climate change and respond to an increasingly widespread desire for nature. What will be the spatial impact of tree masses in urban centers? Will it be sustainable from a formal, environmental, social, and economic point of view?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The research project \u201cThe Right Tree in the Right Town\u201d, conducted by Luciana Macaluso (National Coordinator) and Daniela Buonanno as part of a PRIN 2022 project, investigates the effects and prospects of urban afforestation in cities of southern Italy, starting from specific areas taken as case studies to reflect on issues concerning the entire country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The title of the research reinterprets the Italian expression used in the PNRR Urban Afforestation Plan, \u201cThe right tree in the right place,\u201d which refers to the correct placement of trees according to species, climate, soil, and their agronomic and botanical characteristics. By replacing the generic term \u201cplace\u201d with the word \u201ctown,\u201d the focus shifts\u2014unlike in the 2021 afforestation plan\u2014toward the contingent, architectural, and qualitative issues of urban afforestation.
