Tullia Iori, professore di Storia dell’ingegneria strutturale all’Università di Roma Tor Vergata, racconta la straordinaria avventura di progettisti, scienziati, imprese, ponti e cupole che hanno reso celebre l’ingegneria italiana. Un viaggio che si svolge lungo il XX secolo, negli anni del miracolo economico quando le opere degli ingegneri italiani erano un punto di forza del “Made in Italy”. Il racconto, basato sui risultati della ricerca SIXXI – Storia dell’ingegneria strutturale in Italia, è illustrato da una raccolta di fotografie e documenti originali, raccolti in archivi di tutta Italia, che rinnovano l’universo figurativo dell’ingegneria strutturale.

Tullia Iori, professor of History of Structural Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, tells the extraordinary adventure of designers, scientists, bridges and domes that made Italian engineering famous. It is a journey that takes place throughout the 20th century, in the years of the economic miracle when the works of Italian engineers were a strong point of “Made in Italy.” The narrative, based on the results of the research SIXXI – History of Structural Engineering in Italy, is illustrated by a collection of photographs and original documents, collected from archives throughout Italy, that renew the figurative universe of structural engineering.
